EST. 25+ Years of IT
Our Story

Born From
Two Worlds

After more than 25 years in IT, our founder saw companies cycle out perfectly working computers every 3–5 years — while down the street, children couldn't finish homework and families faced IT repair costs that were simply out of reach.

"My children's friends congregated at our house just to use a computer. That is when the idea was born."

The solution: collect the discarded technology, train passionate youth to refurbish it, and deliver those services back to the community. Convert E-Waste into E-Gear. Convert passion into profession.

We believe in a short Time-to-Pocket (TTP) — IT skills translate to income fast. No degree required. Passion required.

AIReady
Preparing Youth for the AI Era

AI Is Already
Part of the Job.

Every IT career today intersects with artificial intelligence — AI-assisted troubleshooting, smart automation, intelligent security tools. C.IT.Y prepares youth to work with AI, not be replaced by it. And we help communities understand and adapt to AI's growing impact on daily life.

Diverse
teams win.
Why Diversity in IT Matters

Different Perspectives.
Better Solutions.

Research consistently shows that teams with diverse backgrounds and perspectives significantly outperform their peers — in innovation, problem-solving, and results. By preparing youth from underrepresented and underserved communities for IT careers, C.IT.Y doesn't just change individual lives. It strengthens the entire industry.

About C.IT.Y

Community, Information Technology,
and Youth

Our Story · Vision · Values · Timeline
Mission

"To prepare youth for careers in Information Technology — including AI-integrated roles — by providing hands-on training while delivering free technology services and refurbished computers to the community."

Vision

"Technology-healthy communities where every child has access to a computer, youth gain real AI-ready IT career skills, and both individuals and businesses are prepared for the impact of artificial intelligence."

What We Stand For

Our Values

Professionalism
Zero tolerance for anything less than 100% professionalism. We expect excellence, not perfection.
Short Time-to-Pocket
IT skills — including AI tools — translate to income fast. We train for real earnings, not distant credentials.
Diversity
Different life experiences create better ideas and stronger solutions. We actively develop talent from underrepresented and underserved communities because diversity makes technology work better for everyone.
Hands-On Learning
The best way to learn is by doing. In sports it's called taking reps. We take reps — on real equipment, with real people.
Access as a Right
Technology access should not depend on income. Every child deserves a working computer and digital literacy.
Community First
Everything we do flows back to the community — free services, free computers, and now, AI readiness for all.
Our History & Direction

Story, Goals & Timeline

After more than 25 years in the Information Technology field, our founder noticed two worlds that never intersected. Businesses cycled out perfectly capable computers every 3–5 years while families faced IT repair costs that were simply out of reach. The insight: collect discarded technology, train passionate youth to refurbish and support it, and deliver those services back to the neighborhoods that needed them. Convert e-waste into e-gear. Convert passion into profession.

C.IT.Y was built on the belief that any young person with genuine interest in technology — regardless of background — can become a skilled IT professional. The only qualification: passion.

  • Increase the number of youth from diverse backgrounds entering IT and AI careers
  • Raise digital and AI literacy in underserved communities
  • Divert e-waste from landfills by refurbishing and redistributing donated technology
  • Establish Community Technology Centers as permanent neighborhood hubs
  • Prepare youth for the AI-integrated IT workforce through hands-on CITY-U training
  • Help community members and seniors understand and navigate the impact of AI
